The Meaning Behind Juneteenth
Juneteenth marks June 19, 1865—the day enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas learned they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. Today, it stands as a powerful symbol of liberation, resilience, and the continued fight for equity.
At The Corner Wedgewood, we believe in gathering with purpose. This Juneteenth, we open our doors to reflect, uplift, and honor this important moment in history through art, conversation, and community.
What to Expect
In partnership with Celebrate. Connect. Create., we’ll host a welcoming and intentional gathering centered around empowerment and connection.

Live performance curated by One Take begins at 8:30 PM, featuring powerful sets from Nashville’s rising Black artists in our performance gallery space.
Our bar will be serving Juneteenth-inspired specialty cocktails alongside our signature offerings and zero-proof options, designed to reflect the vibrance and richness of Black culture.
Giving Back
While this is a free event, we will be accepting donations throughout the evening. All contributions will go directly to Celebrate. Connect. Create., supporting their ongoing work to build intentional spaces that empower, uplift, and unify the Black community.
